Diktator! Lite transcribes audio and text locally on your Mac. The app downloads the recommended AI model from the internet only after explicit consent.

No cloud. Only local.

Diktator! does not send your audio or transcript to a cloud service. Unless you send a file or text somewhere yourself, it stays on your Mac.

Microphone permission is explicit

macOS asks before Diktator! can use the microphone. Recording starts only with the hotkey or app command, and while your voice is being recorded there is a clear on-screen capsule with the green waveform.

Hotkey permission is limited

Input Monitoring is used for the Right Command hotkey. Accessibility is used to place or paste text into the active app.

Model download is explicit

The recommended AI model is downloaded only after you approve it. Model files stay on your Mac in Application Support.

Models and temporary files are local

Model files stay on your Mac. Temporary audio files are removed after dictation, and diagnostic or temporary files are cleaned automatically.
